Privacy policy

Who we are

Easy Nights is made by Easy Nights Pty Ltd (ACN 703 210 655), a company registered in Australia. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Easy Nights Pty Ltd. You can contact us about privacy at support@easynights.app.

What we collect, and why

There is no account to create. We don’t ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.

How your child’s name is voiced

When you add your child, the app asks you to tick a consent box before anything leaves your phone. Then:

1. The app sends the spoken name (the first name, or your “spell it how it sounds” version) to our server over an encrypted connection.
2. Our server asks ElevenLabs, our voice provider, to read five short sentences that include the name.
3. We store the audio clips under a scrambled code made from the name (a “hash”), not the name as text. This lets children with the same name share the same clips.
4. The app downloads the clips to your phone and plays them inside the story.

We don’t link the clips to you, your phone or any account. Please remember the clips themselves still say the name out loud. If a name can’t be voiced, stories play with “little one” instead.

Who we share it with

We share the smallest amount needed, and only so the app works:

• ElevenLabs turns the name sentences into audio. They receive those sentences only, never your details.
• [HOSTING PROVIDER] runs our server and stores the stories and voiced clips.
• Apple handles purchases, subscriptions and refunds under Apple’s own privacy policy.

These providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We require them to protect it to the same standard as this policy. We don’t use advertising networks, analytics tools, tracking or data brokers, and we never sell personal information.

Children’s privacy

Easy Nights is made for children aged 2 to 6 and is set up by their parent or carer. We designed it to collect as little as possible:

• A grown-up check (a maths question) protects setup, purchases, settings and any links out of the app.
• A grown-up must give consent before a child’s name is sent to be voiced.
• There are no ads, no chat, no sharing between users and no tracking.

We aim to meet children’s privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

How long we keep it

• On your phone: until you remove your child in Grown-ups or delete the app.
• Voiced name clips on our server: [RETENTION PERIOD], or sooner if you ask us to delete them.
• Server logs: [X] days.

Your choices and rights

• Withdraw consent or remove your child: remove their profile in Grown-ups. Their details are deleted from your phone straight away.
• Delete voiced clips from our server: email support@easynights.app with the name as it was voiced (for example, SHIV-awn). We’ll delete the clips within 30 days and confirm by email. Because we don’t record who a name belongs to, this is the only way we can find them.
• Ask what we hold, correct it or make a complaint: email us and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact your local privacy regulator. In Australia, that’s the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
• Subscriptions are managed by Apple in your Apple ID settings.

This website

This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and its fonts are stored here rather than loaded from other companies. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which handles basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.

Keeping it safe

We use encrypted connections, keep our voice service keys on our server (never inside the app) and limit who can access our systems.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
